Honey Sticks! Scrummy Crayons for Littlies
Gorgeous smelling crayons designed in a very user-friendly shape for little hands. I was delighted to be given Honey Sticks crayons for trial by Lola and Ben. A fantastic range of assorted colors created from New Zealand beeswax, making them safe for your child who is likely to not only test them out on paper, but in their mouths as well.
We have a set of crayons from another brand at home, but they are funnily shaped – I still haven’t figured out how I am suppose to grip them. With the honeysticks you can teach your child normal gripping as they would a pen or pencil, its just easier for young ones cause the crayons are thick.
The beeswax scent is definitely worth a mention, I noticed it right away and so did my little boy who immediately tried to shove 2 in his mouth. Apart from scribbling, he has thrown them and hid them around the house. None have yet to chip or break.
Honey Sticks are durable, environmentally friendly and are vibrant on the page. A definite alternative to the waxy crayons on the market. Retailing for $14NZD at Lola and Ben, these are great to stash in your purse or have around the house in case of a present-needed emergency.
Want to grab yourself a pack of Honey Sticks? We are giving away 2 packs, one each to 2 lucky winners. There are ways you can enter.

Good Luck!

my baby girl likes to watch tv while playing with her toys but would like her to explore her creativity i have left a comment at the girlstoys blog network as well.
Hello everyone,
I saw the article about being greener and more environmentally friendly. I think it is great that so many people are waking up and becoming aware of the fact that the planet is in trouble and that we need to act now in order to help out. I think with global warming creeping up on us, I think it is very important that we become more aware of trying to lower our carbon emissions, and try and do right by the planet. I think we can all do our little bit extra to try and help! At home I always shut the computer down rather than putting it to sleep, and always turn off electrics rather than leave them on stand by. These tips may seem small, but if everyone pulled together then I think we could really make a difference to the world. Another hint I have is that I now use e-Cards rather than buying paper cards. Not only are you saving money if you choose a free site, but more importantly, you are helping the environment by saving paper, and therefore less trees need to be chopped down! I have done my research and finally found the best free Environmentally Friendly e-Card site. It is really easy to use, which is great if like me you are not very good with computers! I really like this particular site as there is just so much choice. I know e-Cards are not for everyone but think of the environment it really is a great way to help out and do your bit! Kind Regards, Nic.
My daughters are obsessed with dancing to ABBA! (Ever since Mamma Mia came out). My 3yr old and 5yr old know all the lyrics and 1yr old is learning them….. I would like to turn their focus back to writing and drawing – one can only take SO much ABBA music!!
My boy loves building with anything, but he also enjoys drawing, making music, kicking balls and baking. (particularly the eating part)
My baby girl likes building block towers, banging pots and reading books with her Mum but I am sure she will love drawing when she is a bit older.
My little man loves playing with Cars, Thomas the tank engine. Would love him to do more drawing especially with Crayons that don’t break every time you use them.
I’m not in NZ, rather in Asia, but I just wanted to say that these Honey Sticks really do look beautiful! I wish I could have a sniff!
Hi Ghada – I have joined your blogpage on facebook – I’d like to enter for the ecostore and the crayons thank you very much.

Hey Ghada – forgot to add that Hamish’s fave chill out activity is reading the whole set of ‘that’s not my’ books – i.e ethat’s not my Lion, Princess, mermaid etc etc – he loves sitting on my knee and feeling the fabric sections of the book!

My baby boy just 10.5 weeks loves mum and dad talking to him and a ride in his stroller – dad is an artist so I hope bubba has the talent too.
Our little man loves to chill out to awesome beats! In the car, or at home, he’s always bopping along to some tune or another!
He’s also started to draw on things – he drew on sleeping daddy the other day – but we didn’t tell him, did we?? Hehe
What a wonderful idea! Thanks for this.
My baby girl Talika loves to chill out in nature with Mommy. I think she’s ready to start wielding crayons, but I don’t want her eating paraffin wax!
My girl loves watching Winnie the Pooh DVD which she watchs constintly
