DIY around the house

This month hubby and I are cutting back from our normally 50+ hours a week of work to do ALOT of DIY around the house. Its not really something I love doing, but neither do I hate it, hence I feel as if I am in a limbo between heaven and hell.

Our already small house is full of clutter, dust, paint buckets and is just in general disarray. I like order, not so much a fan of dirt and dust. But, I’ve put a positive spin on things imagining the new kitchen, freshly painted walls and floors free of dust. Yes, I think I can get into this DIY home builder stuff and actually enjoy it. The possibilities for the house are endless once we finish, so I am really really looking forward to where we’ll get to by month’s end. I’m on painting duty, so my efforts so far are only slightly noticeable in the form of white base coats in 2 bedrooms. I’ll keep you up to date, and I’ll be skipping back in time in future blog posts to show you what I’ve been up to over the holidays.

I hope you have had a fantastic holiday season and are starting off to an even better 2010.

    Hi Ghada,

Right now I feel like everything I do to this house is about selling it in a few years. We live in New Orleans and our house is about 40 years old and much of it was painted pink when we moved in. Not that I don't like pink, but I don't think it works in a living room. Everytime I finish a room, it feels like I have to redo another. Once this bathroom is finished, I'm going to enjoy it and not look at another room project until this summer!
